Calcifort wtih Boron - 300 Tabs

AUD$48.50

Item Description

Nutrition surveys show that many New Zealanders, particularly women, consume diets that fall short of supplying the recommended Calcium intake (800 mg per day for adults). A good accumulation of Calcium in the bones in the early stages of life is the best prevention of age-related bone loss and fractures. Studies show, however, that in post-menopausal women supplemental Calcium can slow bone loss, with the degree of reduction being sufficient to potentially reduce fracture risk over time.

Low dietary levels of Calcium increase the risk of high blood pressure. Severe deficiency can lead to abnormal heartbeat, dementia and convulsions. As we age the risk of deficiency escalates because of decreased absorption due to lowered stomach acidity.

Calcifort supplies Calcium in the preferred, more readily absorbable Citrate form, boosted to high potency with Calcium Carbonate. Calcium Citrate does not require high stomach acidity for maximum absorption as do other forms of Calcium. The inclusion of Calcium Citrate, thus, makes Calcifort a highly bioavailable Calcium supplement suitable for people of all ages. The daily dosage of Calcifort supplies 90% of the recommended intake of this essential mineral. Another benefit of Calcium Citrate is that it reduces the crystallisation of Calcium salts that can develop into kidney stones.

Calcifort includes a range of synergistic nutrients to maximise bioavailability. Magnesium and Vitamin D enhance Calcium absorption, Zinc is included for its role in preventing bone loss, while the trace elements, Silica and Manganese are necessary for normal skeletal development.

Indications for Use
Most women would benefit from taking Calcifort throughout life, especially those with a family history of osteoporosis. Calcifort is ideal during pregnancy and breast-feeding, as well as after menopause.

Many elderly individuals suffer from diminished stomach acidity. This influence on Calcium absorption is often exacerbated by a decreased desire for Calcium-rich foods at this stage. Because Calcium Citrate is included in Calcifort, it is recommended in such cases.

Those people who would benefit from taking Calcifort include those who suffer muscle cramps, joint pains, heart palpitations, increased cholesterol levels, insomnia, irritability, and numbness of the arms and legs. Others who may benefit from taking Calcifort are those who consume low-fat, high protein or high fibre diets and who tend not to eat dairy products because of their perceived high-fat status. Strict vegetarians, also, may not consume dairy products. Calcifort is suitable for vegetarians.

Contraindications
Intakes of up to 2000mg / day Calcium appear to be safe in most individuals.
