Item Description

The nutrient Co-Enzyme Q10 is found in every cell of the body, thus its other name, ubiqui-none. Ubiquinone is a naturally occuring substance with a molecular structure similar to vitamin K. Because the body must have energy to perform even the simplest operation, Co-EnzymeQ10 is an essential component of the mitochondria - the energy producing part of the cell. Often referred to as nature’s spark-plug because, like a car engine, the body cannot function properly without the initial spark from Co-Q10.
Professor Crane and his colleagues at the University of Wilconsin first discovered this exciting nutrient in 1957.
Even though the body has the ability to produce Co-Enzyme Q10, deficiency states can exist. Ageing contributes to this nutrient deficiency, as the liver slowly loses its ability to synthesis Co-Q10.
Research now indicates that C0-Q10 supplementation can provide significant benefit in the treatment of a number of health disorders. Free radicals are highly reactive substances that can cause cellular damage. Co-Q10 is a powerful antioxidant acting as a free radical scavenger. Co-Q10 is beneficial for oxygen uptake and the proper functioning of muscles, thereby improving stamina, endurance and assisting in a general feeling of well being.
The primary clinical application of Co-Q10 focus on the cardiovascular system. As the heart muscle is one of the most metabolically active tissues in the body, a Co-Q10 deficiency can affect heart function.
Studies show that Co-Enzyme Q10, dissolved in vegetable oil in a soft gelatine capsule as with Thompson’s Co-Q10, is more readily absorbed than Co-Enzyme Q10 in other dosage forms.

Adults - 1-2 capsule daily
(with food), or as professionally prescribed.
