Halibut liver oil is an excellent and far higher source of vitamin A (retinol) than cod liver oil. Halibut liver oil also contains vitamin D and small quantities of the omega-3 fatty acids.

Vitamin A is a fat soluble nutrient essential to healthy vision, reproduction, immunity, wound healing and other essential body functions. Vitamin A contributes to normal cell reproduction or differentiation thereby minimising the risk of abnormal cell formation. By maintaining healthy cell membranes, vitamin A helps prevent invasion by disease causing micro-organisms. Along with vitamin D, it is useful in the formation of bone, protein and growth hormone.

Vitamin D is best known for its ability to stimulate the absorption of calcium and therefore prevent bone diseases such as rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults. Vitamin D deficiency is now most often seen in elderly people, who have low sun exposure, resulting in a lack of bone strength, bone density, and joint pain.

Thompson’s Halibut liver oil product is manufactured under the strictest guidelines and is of the highest quality for supplementation. Thompson’s have always followed strict specification limits in all Thompson’s brand fish products testing for pesticides and heavy metal contaminants such as PCBs, dioxins and mercury. Customers can be assured that all Thompson’s fish oil products do not exceed World Health Organisation (WHO) standards and Australian Food Standard (AFS) limits.

INGREDIENTS PER CAPSULE:
Halibut Liver Oil 145mg
equiv. Vitamin A 4000 IU
equiv. Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D 400 IU) 10mcg

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adults - One capsule daily (with food), or as professionally prescribed.

INDICATIONS FOR USE:
Vitamin A improves resistance to infection and may play a role in the prevention and treatment of respiratory tract infections such as sinus, hayfever, asthma and bronchitis, recurrent ear infections, urinary tract infections and vaginitis. Vitamin A is useful in treating viral illnesses such as influenza, measles and chicken pox. Vitamin A is used to treat acne and renew aged skin. Supplementation may help to prevent eye and vision-related conditions such as cataracts, night blindness, conjunctivitis, and dry eyes. Vitamin D helps to stimulate the absorption of calcium and therefore prevent bone diseases such as rickets, osteoporosis and osteomalacia.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not take if pregnant without consulting your doctor. Toxicity can occur in adults who take in excess of 50,000IU daily for several years.
Use with caution in individuals with liver damage, cirrhosis or hepatitis.

No added sugar, starch, wheat, salt, corn, milk, yeast, gluten, artificial colouring, flavouring or preservatives.
