Halibut Liver Oil - 250 Caps

Item Description

Halibut liver oil is an excellent and far higher source of vitamin A (retinol) than cod liver oil. Halibut liver oil also contains vitamin D and small quantities of the omega-3 fatty acids.
Vitamin A is a fat soluble nutrient essential to healthy vision, reproduction, immunity, wound healing and other essential body functions. Every year millions of children go blind in developing countries due to Vitamin A deficiency.

By maintaining healthy cell membranes, vitamin A helps prevent invasion by disease causing micro-organisms. Along with vitamin D, it is useful in the formation of bone, protein and growth hormone. This vitamin’s ability to boost the immune system and treat infections is well established in scientific studies.
Vitamin D is best known for its ability to stimulate the absorption of calcium and therefore assist with bone health. Vitamin D deficiency is seen in children and adults, who have low sun exposure, resulting in a lack of bone strength, bone density, and joint pain.
Thompson’s Halibut liver oil product is manufactured under the strictest guidelines and is of the highest quality for supplementation. Thompson’s have always followed strict specification limits in all Thompson’s brand fish products testing for pesticides and heavy metal contaminants such as PCBs, dioxins and mercury. Formulation
145mg of Halibut Liver Oil yielding:
Vitamin A (1200mcg) 4000 IU
Vitamin D (10mcg) 400 IU

Direction for use
Adults - One or two capsules daily (with food), or as professionally prescribed.

Indications for Use
Vitamin A may help improve resistance to infection and play a role in assisting with the health of the respiratory tract. Vitamin A is recommended in cases of viral infections including measles.

Vitamin A may help assist the symptoms of acne. Supplementation may help aid healthy vision.

Vitamin D helps to stimulate the absorption of calcium and therefore is important for bone health.

Contraindications:
To avoid any potential problems with vitamin A during pregnancy use its safe precursor, beta-carotene or do not take more than 10,000iu's per day.
Toxicity can occur in adults who take in excess of 50,000iu’s daily for several years. Use with caution in individuals with liver damage, cirrhosis or hepatitis.
