Item Description

Kelp provides a wide range of naturally occurring minerals and trace elements and can serve as a well-absorbed multi-mineral supplement that is high in the trace elements. The species of Kelp used in Active Botanicals Kelp, Macrocystis pyrifera, grows in the coastal waters of New Zealand. The leaves and stem of Macrocystis are harvested by hand and sun dried. Sun drying is considered a superior form of processing, as it ensures retention of full nutrient value.

Each Active Botanicals Kelp capsule provides 1500 mg of Kelp, a particularly well-absorbed multi-mineral supplement. Macrocystis pyrifera is especially rich in Iodine, Potassium and Calcium and in Trace Elements. It is also an excellent source of viscous fibre that helps lower bowel transit time, absorbs toxins from the bowel and regulates colonic bacteria.

Formulation
Kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) 1500 mg

Direction for use
Adults - One capsule, two times a day (with food), or as professionally prescribed.

Indications for Use
As a rich source of Iodine, Active Botanicals Kelp can have a powerful effect on the thyroid gland and, thus, on metabolism in general and the metabolism of fats in particular. It also acts as a gentle diuretic that helps to reduce fluid retention.

Kelp is often recommended for hair loss, goitre and ulcers. Active Botanicals Kelp is beneficial to the thyroid gland, in general, and may protect against the effects of radiation.

Contraindications
Not to be used in hypertension or during pregnancy unless under the supervision of a qualified
practitioner. Not to be used with orthodox thyroid medication.
