Organic Echinacea Complex - 50 Tabs

Item Description

The purple coneflower of Echinacea was discovered and first used by Native Americans as a remedy for toothache, sore throats and snake bites. Brought back to Europe, it quickly became a popular herbal remedy, and since the turn of the century, has been used to treat infections and as a stimulant for the whole body, due to its stimulatory effects on the immune system.

The Echinacea used in Thompson’s Echinacea Complex tablets is the unique ActivHerbä Echinacea, which comes from the roots and tops of Echinacea purpurea (the most researched species of Echinacea), that is organically grown in New Zealand. Unlike most Echinacea available, Thompson’s ActivHerbä Echinacea is standardised to ensure more than 4% phenolics, generally considered to be the key indicator of Echinacea quality and effectiveness.

Each Thompson’s Echinacea Complex tablet contains 1000mg dried herb equivalent plus the supporting nutrients OptiZinc, a highly absorbable form of Zinc, known to enhance immune activity; Beta-Carotene and Vitamin C, which act as free radical scavengers, thus enhancing the action of ActivHerbä Echinacea.

Thompson’s Echinacea Complex tablets can be taken daily to treat (and prevent) colds or influenza, urogenital infection and lowered white blood cell count. Because of its immuno-stimulatory properties, as well as its anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties, Echinacea Complex can also be in candidiasis, herpes, bites of all kinds, whooping cough, blood poisoning and rheumatoid arthritis. As a prophylactic, it can also decrease the frequency of occurrence of infection.

Direction for use
Adults - One to two tablets a day (with food) or as professionally prescribed.

Indications for Use
Thompson’s Echinacea Complex tablets are recommended at high dosage for a maximum of ten days to boost the immune system. A short break should follow and a high dose can be taken again if necessary. This is suited to anyone in need of treatment of a severe infection or with a compromised immune system.

More often, however, Thompson’s Echinacea Complex tablets should be taken at the recommended daily dose, continuously, to prevent infection or to treat a chronic infection.

Because Thompson’s Echinacea Complex can be taken as an anti-inflammatory it can help in wound healing, eczema and inflammatory skin conditions. Its anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties mean that Thompson’s Echinacea Complex can also help with influenza, urinary tract infections, bites of all kinds, boils, carbuncles and abscesses.

Contraindications
Due to the lack of available safety data regarding the use of a number of herbs in pregnancy we generally do not recommend this product to be taken while pregnant, unless professionally prescribed.
