Super Bioflavonoid - 60 Tabs

AUD$22.50

Item Description

The existence of Vitamin P was postulated in 1936 by Szent-Gyorgyi, who claimed extracts of Hungarian red peppers and lemon juice contained a substance that was more effective in the treatment of increased vascular fragility than Vitamin C. This substance was named ‘Vitamin P’ in honour of ‘permeability and paprika’ and later renamed ‘flavonoid’, due to it’s chemical configuration.

Flavonoids, or bioflavonoids, are plant pigments that give colour to fruits, vegetables and herbs, and are found in legumes, grains and nuts. Potent antioxidants, they help to prevent cell damage by unstable oxygen molecules called free radicals.

Bioflavonoids are generally recommended to strengthen fragile blood vessels, such as in varicose veins and broken facial capillaries. They may also help to reduce the risk of abnormal platelet clumping and capillary breakages in the retina of diabetics. Bioflavonoids are valuable for the healing of wounds and bruises, reducing the risk of blood clots, strokes and vascular insufficiency.

Bioflavonoids exhibit a broad range of antioxidant capabilities, which is further augmented by their ability to inhibit the formulation of inflammatory compounds. This makes them a valuable addition in the treatment of inflammatory disorders and allergies.

Bioflavonoids may also help protect against heart disease and other circulatory disorders due to their antioxidant action and vascular strengthening effects.
