Lecithin generally refers to a mixture of phospholipids, including phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylserine.

Lecithin is the primary source of choline and inositol, important B vitamins able to emulsify or breakdown fat deposits in the body. Lecithin enables the break down of fats and cholesterol, keeping these substances in the bloodstream rather than accumulating on artery walls. Choline is currently being investigated as part of the nerve fluid acetylcholine, which is needed to bridge the gap between nerve cells, and between nerve and muscle cells, so that information can be efficiently transmitted. This enables the nervous system to function properly and is essential for optimum brain function.

Recent research has focused on phosphatidylserine as an important brain nutrient to counteract the age-related decline in cognitive abilities. Phosphatidylserine can help to improve memory and thinking processes and GM free. In Double-blind studies with adults suffering from measurable decline in mental functioning, improvements were shown in name-face recognition, maintaining concentration, learning and remembering information and recalling locations of misplaced items.

Thompson’s Super Lecithin is derived from unsaturated soya bean oil, considered to be the best source of nutritional lecithin. Super Lecithin is supplied in a high potency 1200mg capsule, supplying not less than 50% phosphatides.

INDICATIONS FOR USE:
Super Lecithin can help breakdown fat deposits and aid the liver in the metabolism of dietary fats. It may prove useful in the treatment of atherosclerosis, heart disease, hyperlipidaemia, high cholesterol, gallstones and liver disease. It can be used to help improve cognitive functions such as memory and concentration and in conditions related to nerve dysfunction and memory loss.

Equiv. Phosphatidyl Choline 153mg
Equiv. Phosphatidyl inositol 86mg
(containing not less than 50% phosphatides)

DOSAGE:
Adults - 1 capsule a day (with food), or as professionally prescribed.
